Wisconsin Conquerors FC are delighted to welcome former Bradford City AFC professional soccer player and Performance Coach, Andy Kiwomya of Believe Performance to oversee coaching for the Wisconsin Conquerors Senior team and Wisconsin Conquerors JR Academy.
Kiwomya comes with a wealth of experience in management, coaching and fitness conditioning. He holds a Masters Degree in Advanced Sports Coaching Practice and a UEFA A License.
As a player, Kiwomya won promotion three times, one of which was with his hometown club, Bradford City, in 1996 when they were victorious at the national stadium, Wembley, in the play- off final.
In 2021 Kiwomya returned to the club as the new performance coach, taking up a similar role to the one that he held at Huddersfield Town, Manchester City, Leeds United and Nottingham Forest. While he was in the role at Huddersfield Town, they went on to achieve a 43-game unbeaten run - a club record!
The former forward also had spells in management with Sheffield FC (the world’s oldest soccer club) and Sheffield Hallam University’s Mens side.
Through Believe Performance, Kiwomya acts as a consultant as well as delivering football conditioning for contracted and out-of-contract professional players.
Over the years at club level, he worked with a host of precocious young talented players such as Rio Ferdinand, Harry Kewell, Alan Smith, Jonathan Woodgate, Jordan Rhodes, Anthony Pilkington, Lee Peltier, Josh Windass, Alex Mighten and George Byers.
His son, Alex Kiwomya, also spent eight years as youth and young professional player at Premier League outfit, Chelsea.
Alexander Eddo, founder of the Conquerors said: “From the get go, we would like to lay down the foundation for all our teams to set out, maintain and set standards that allow us to achieve our goals, and to turn this NPSL season into a breakthrough one.
"Andy has lived and worked in the US as a coach before and once the prospect of him joining us became available, we made it happen.
"We are excited to consult with Andy, a coach who has the experience of working with and developing amateur and professional players in England and abroad.
"In August last summer, Andy was the co-host of our successful inaugural Brian Deane Soccer Camp which was hosted at the Greenheck Fieldhouse in Weston.
"Brian Deane and I came over last summer to do his camp and we fell in love with the Wisconsin area and the soccer club .
"We talked about the opportunity to build something special in the heart of Wisconsin. We feel this soccer club has the potential to provide the soccer community in this and the surrounding areas with a programme they can be truly proud of.
“Between us, we will offer all of our experience and expertise to garner success and positively change the lives of all the players that we work with.”
The Conquerors' first NPSL home game is scheduled for May 17 against Chicago-based Gio Lions SC at the Kenneth and Ardyce Heiting Community Stadium in Marshfield, WI. Fans can purchase tickets at wisconsinconquerors.org/npsl-tickets
